our client was an innocent 22-year-old victim that was sleeping in his bed at his apartment around March 20, 2023. An unidentified suspect gained entry to the apartment complex, appeared in front of Our Client’s apartment building and used a machine-gun style weapon to shoot multiple rounds of bullets into our Client’s building. The bullets pierced through the brick walls of our Client’s bedroom and struck him causing injury, damages and pain and suffering. We sued the apartment complex for negligent security, ordinary negligence, and nuisance claims. After conducting discovery and depositions, the insurance companies for the Defendants decided to settle the claim for millions.
